We currently have an opportunity to join our team of talented and diverse Faculty and Staff as a Director I.

 

Required Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s and advance certification in a career and technical program area with five (5) years of managerial or administrative experience in an educational setting. Experience teaching in one of the career and technical program areas, including the supervision of Faculty is also required.

 

Preferred Qualifications: A Master’s degree is preferred.

 

Salary: This is a twelve (12) month administrative position with a salary of $62,000.

Working Hours: Occasional evening and weekend work may also be required, as well as moderate travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and leadership for all administration of departmental functions. Leads the strategic planning process. Supervises faculty and staff, establishes structure, orientation support and communication protocol.
  • Provides Leadership, direction and oversight for the activities and operations for the School of Workforce Programs which include PSAV Skilled Trades programming and apprenticeships.
  • Engages business and community partners, advisory board members and school districts to enhance opportunities for programming.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and monitors enrollment, retention, and completion for the programs under the School of Workforce and guides a continuous improvement plan. Addresses student issues.
  • Meets budget preparation requirements and develops and manages all operating budgets and capital request.
  • Ensures that active and qualified advisory boards function and help assess program relevancy, quality and determine local industry needs. Provides leadership for the development of relationships with external constituencies.
  • Provides leadership in the preparation of grant proposals and resource development opportunities that promote and/or sustain program growth.
  • Develops the recruitment and marketing plan. Reviews and assists in developing promotional materials required by the workforce program area.
  • Participates in college wide meetings and initiatives, attends, or conducts staff meetings; attends in service training and classes, seminars, or conferences to improve professional skills.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate must have excellent analytical, organizational, written/oral communication, interpersonal and customer service skills as well as the ability to be flexible to match the demands of the grant. He or She must be comfortable with technology including the Microsoft Office Suite. The successful candidate must be able to function effectively in a team environment, grasp concepts quickly and develop and meet goals. He/she must also be able to supervise others effectively, keep accurate records and communicate effectively with college employees, consortium partners, business/industry representatives and the public.
