Job Description Summary
Based in San Francisco, this position reports directly to the
Senior Director of Venture Lab.
The Associate Director will lead Bay Area programming strategy,
with an eye toward marketing and community building. The Associate
Director provides leadership for key strategic priorities of
Venture Lab through the design and delivery, launch, management,
growth, and end-to-end operations for a portfolio of programs
including, but not limited to the Venture Initiation Program
accelerator (VIP-X) in San Francisco, Scale School, B-School
Disrupt. Further, the Associate Director will provide onsite
support for other Venture Lab programs that run in Wharton San
Francisco, such as Bet on Entrepreneurship (BoE) summer
This position will manage cross-functional and cross-organizational
teams to launch and execute program requirements and is responsible
for budget management, creation of annual work plan for the
identified programs, preparation of management reports and
stewardship materials, creation of program presentations,
development of performance measurement plan, tracking and analysis
of key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve, iterate and scale
programming, and time-sensitive reporting on an as-needed basis,
and staff management of cross-organizational teams. The position
requires frequent interaction with seasoned, accomplished alumni
entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and other professionals engaged
in entrepreneurship and innovation careers, including significant
donors. The position requires a high level of judgment and
professionalism in cultivating relationships with alumni, including
donor stewardship. The position requires excellent interpersonal,
written, and oral communication skills; strong collaboration and
team building skills; a forward-thinking mindset; and demonstrated
creativity, problem solving, critical analysis, initiative,
judgment, and decision-making skills. The position is also
responsible for cultivating an open rapport and a professional,
supportive educational approach with undergraduate and graduate
student entrepreneurs and innovators from all disciplines across
the University of Pennsylvania. While the schedule is generally
business hours, ability to work early mornings, evenings, and
weekend hours, and to occasionally travel, is required. After
successful completion of the introductory period, this position is
hybrid eligible with some weeks requiring more in-person work as

as ActiveCampaign; and additional tools such as Qualtrics,
SurveyMonkeyApply; Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop,
Acrobat a plus.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications,
experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the
requirements of the position, as well as internal and market
