Developer to
join its central IT organization.
Ohio University has embarked upon strategic initiatives that
require efficient and
effective uses of data. You can have a key role in the fulfilling
of these initiatives
by applying your SQL and data reporting skills to
University data. You will enhance
existing and develop new operational and analytical reporting
solutions. You will
work on a variety tight-deadline, quick turnaround tasks as well as
longer term
projects to elevate existing solutions utilizing industry best
practices.

The BI Developer II is a member of the Ohio University Information
Delivery team. This is
a junior position responsible for assisting in the design,
development and delivery of
reporting solutions for Ohio University. This includes developing
moderately complex
data models, queries and custom reports for operational and
analytical reporting.
Key Accountabilities:
• Participates in the development, maintenance and support of an
enterprise data
warehouse system and corresponding data marts. Perform data
warehouse design and
development requiring an advanced knowledge of business processes,
source data,
and SQL language features, including creating scripts,
stored procedures, indexes and views.
Troubleshoot existing data warehouse applications. Responsible for
metadata and
repository creation. Provide secondary analytical support for
multiple functional areas.
• Responsible for creating moderately complex database reports
based on the needs of
end users. Incorporate end user requests and requirements to
develop an enterprise
reporting solution. Requires advanced knowledge
of SQL programming. Review queries for
performance issues, making changes as needed. Provide secondary
operational support
for multiple functional areas.
• Leverage an advanced understanding of reporting application
features to support the user
community in the use of business intelligence tools to query files
and databases for report
outputs. Assist customers in use of OLAP tools, extract
and collect data for performing
queries and writing reports.
• Other duties as assigned.
