The School of Education at Syracuse University is seeking a dynamic colleague to fill one full-time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Inclusive STEM Education with a K-12 focus. Expected academic year compensation for this position is $70,000 to $85,000. The School of Education is committed to inclusive and antiracist pedagogy and practice in the preparation of professionals at all levels, in U.S. and international communities. Aligned with this commitment, the School seeks an individual with strong expertise and research interest in (1) inclusive K-12 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and (2) experiential or digital education pedagogy. The successful candidate will join a faculty who are committed to advancing our mission of preparing the next generation of professional educators who will have meaningful and sustained impact in their communities. Required Qualifications and Responsibilities: An earned Doctorate in science or mathematics education, or its equivalent, is required. The successful applicant must demonstrate a sustainable scholarly agenda with potential to gain extramural funds. The successful applicant will have demonstrated effective teaching practices that can be applied across our undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctoral programs, breadth across coursework, previous mentorship of students, and demonstrated professional service. The successful applicant will teach courses for prospective mathematics and science teachers across the K-12 grade span. The applicant will be expected to build and maintain a national scholarly reputation through publications and funding records, provide engaged teaching and mentoring for graduate students, contribute to program development, and provide service to the University, Profession, and the local community. We look for colleagues to make substantial collegial contributions in sponsored STEM education research, thus funded grant writing experience is preferred. We are especially interested in applicants with the ability to contribute to doctoral study, and a strong record of scholarship, teaching, and professional service or robust leadership experience.
