Multicultural Outreach Specialist

Multicultural Outreach Specialists are responsible for building awareness and interest in UW-Platteville among prospective students of color and their families. The specialists promote progression through the recruitment funnel by nurturing connections and relationships with applicants. This position reports to the Director of Recruitment and is part of the Office of Recruitment. This position will also liaise closely with the offices of Admission, Financial Aid, and Multicultural Student Affairs. As a member of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, it is essential that all applicants support and foster a diverse, inclusive and civil community of outstanding faculty, staff and students. There is potential for this position to be regional.

50% - Serve as a representative of UW-Platteville by recruiting students of color at off and on campus events, including coordinating closely with territory managers.

25% - Build awareness and interest among prospective students of color and their families by hosting special visits and events, such as the Paths to Platteville program

10% - Collaborate with the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA) and serve as a liaison between OMSA and the offices of Recruitment and Admission

10% - Analyze and review data to make informed decisions about outreach and financial support

5% - Other duties as assigned
