Pepperdine University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as an Assistant Professor of Sport Administration, beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year. Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in Sport Management, Sport Administration, Sport Marketing or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education by the date of appointment, which is August 1, 2024.

The successful candidate will teach courses at the undergraduate level in Sport Administration, including: Sport Event and Facilities Management; Sport Marketing; and Sport Sponsorship and Sales; and other required courses as needed. In these classes, the successful candidate will blend theory with practice, preparing students to successfully enter the competitive sport business field upon graduation. We seek a professor who can excite students with real-world examples, timely case studies and learning experiences providing the opportunity to apply theory to relevant problem sets. Documented teaching experience in the area of Sport Administration is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate will mentor and advise undergraduate Sport Administration students academically and professionally and may be called on to assist in overseeing the curriculum component of student internships. Thus, preference will be granted to candidates with professional experience or established professional relationships in the sport industry. A demonstrated passion for developing sport industry opportunities for students inside and outside of the classroom is strongly prioritized.

Documented research interest and teaching experience in the area of Sport Administration are required.
