Staff Clinician

Under the supervision of the Director of the Counseling Center, the Staff Clinician (Professional Services Specialist 2) is responsible for the assessment, support and treatment of Kean University students with a specific focus on anxiety, depression, and other mood-related conditions. The Staff Clinician uses established policies, procedures and guidelines as stated by the State of New Jersey and Federal laws and regulations to provide essential support services to the University community. This position requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. T his is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus as determined by the Supervisor. Some travel is also required.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling or a related field; license or eligibility for licensure in the State of New Jersey in a mental health field; and a minimum of three years of clinical experience including work with high-risk individuals, as well as with complex and/or longstanding clinical problems is required. Familiarity with developmental issues of college students and demonstrated sensitivity and skill in working with diverse populations is required. Doctorate degree in one of the above mentioned fields is preferred and may be substituted for two years of the required experience. Experience working with university students and interest in providing education and training to clinical staff on clinical issues is preferred.
