Purpose of Position
The Digital and Social Media Specialist strategically tells the
story of NKU through compelling and creative means, using digital
media and online platforms to effectively and appropriately share
messaging with targeted groups, specifically focused on students,
prospective students, and friends of the University.
Coordinates with internal/external clients and stakeholders in
alignment with the University’s strategic plan and prioritized
projects to timely develop and execute digital and social media
marketing strategies supporting institutional objectives.
Incorporates innovative social media practices to advance the
University’s brand and reputation, both internally and externally.
Also works to promote online licensing sales for additional revenue
opportunities via digital marketing initiatives.
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, PR, Communications, Marketing or
related field. 2 years of experience required.
Proficiency in social media technologies and tools, including
analytics. MS Office proficiency. Desire and ability to keep up
with the latest trends and technical skills.
An understanding and appreciation for the role of social media in
supporting and advancing marketing, public relations, and
Ability to maintain confidentiality, based on monitoring sensitive
subjects/messages that may appear within social media platforms.
Critical thinking around when and to who to elevate controversial
or sensitive messages (to PR Director, Digital Director and AVP ).
Occasional outdoor work and minimal lifting.
