The University of Hartford (UHart) is actively seeking an energetic, visionary and transformational leader to assume the role of President. UHart, a four-year, private, residential university, is at a crucial juncture in its history, ready to define and pursue a bold new vision for its future.

The university community is looking for a President who embodies the passion and innovative spirit that drives UHart's trajectory and who can engage the entire community in shaping its next chapter. UHart, situated on a 350-acre campus near Connecticut's capital city, has a diverse student body consisting of approximately 4,000 undergraduates and 1,800 graduate students hailing from 48 states and 45 countries.

Throughout its history, UHart has continually evolved to meet the needs of students and society. It offers a wide range of programs, from business, engineering and technology to music, visual arts and sciences, known for excellence, innovation and a commitment to student success. UHart has always been inclusive, welcoming students of all backgrounds and genders. Today, it emphasizes global citizenship, community service, study abroad and environmental responsibility. In recent years, UHart has invested in new and high-demand academic programs, expanded online offerings and transitioned its athletics program to NCAA Division III status, resulting in increased applications and student-athlete interest. The Center for Student Success and the Francis X. and Nancy Hursey Center for Advanced Engineering and Health Professions have further enhanced the campus and student experience.

The UHart Start strategic action plan, launched in 2020, guides the institution's efforts through 2025, focusing on transformation, excellence and sustainability. The university has also seen substantial fundraising success and enrollment growth in recent years.

The ideal candidate for the next President of UHart will be an innovative, visionary leader who can inspire and unite the administration, faculty, staff and student body. They will work closely with a dedicated and supportive board and campus community. The President must possess expertise in organizational leadership and change management, effective communication, data-informed decision-making, higher education finance, external relationship-building, and a deep commitment to UHart's mission and values. Previous successful experience in fundraising is essential.
