The Department of Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies at the
University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a
tenure-track assistant professor with a specialization in Black
feminisms and/or Black feminist theory. The department welcomes
applicants in a broad range of fields, with a strong preference for
scholars whose work takes a transnational or global approach to the
Black diaspora. We especially encourage applications from those
whose work crosses traditional academic boundaries.
The standard teaching load is 2/2 and includes one required course
and one elective course each semester. Other duties include
undergraduate and graduate student advising, a well as service
duties to the department, college, and university.
