Job Description:

Berry College invites applications for the Dean of the Campbell School of Business. We seek a dean who will have a bold, ambitious vision for high-quality student experiences and excellence in business education in a residential college setting. The dean will inspire high standards for a teacher/scholar model, demonstrate a commitment to collaboration within the school and with other academic programs at the College, and creatively enhance Campbell programs in the context of the Berry College mission.

Successful candidates will have a vision for strengthening the school's Signature Learning Experiences, such as undergraduate research, internships, international education, sustained community engagement, and high-level student work in the LifeWorks program. The dean will lead faculty development efforts to build capacity for leadership and continued professional growth. We are especially interested in candidates whose experience includes teaching, research, and leadership are aligned with and will advance Berry's culture of diversity and belonging.

The Campbell School includes programs in Accounting, Creative Technologies, Data Analytics, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, International Business, Management, and Marketing. The Center for Student Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (C-SEED) is a Campbell initiative that supports the Entrepreneurship program and includes students from all four schools (in addition to the Campbell School: the Charter School of Education and Human Sciences; the Evans School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences; and the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences). C-SEED also provides support to the Berry College Student Enterprises . The Berry Data Analytics Center is an emerging program in the Campbell School that seeks to support the new Data Analytics major and inclusive, equitable practices in data analytics. Now in its 50th year, the Campbell MBA program is poised to serve students with a renewed strategic focus. The dean will lead an effort, already in process, to expand the market we serve and to adapt the graduate program to meet the needs of our target students.

The dean will be skilled in building external relationships with businesses and community partners, collaborating effectively with the Advancement Office, leading the Campbell Executive Advisory Council and the Campbell Young Professional Advisory Council, and maintaining the high standards of AACSB accreditation.

Job Responsibilities

The dean serves as the chief academic, administrative, and budgetary officer of the Campbell School and reports directly to the College's Provost. The dean supervises all Campbell faculty, department chairs, directors, coordinators, and administrative staff. The dean serves as a member of the Provost's Council of Deans and teaches 3 to 6 credit hours each year in their discipline, as do other school deans.


Requirements:

Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in one of the disciplines represented by the Campbell School, with sufficient academic credentials to merit appointment to the rank of full professor. The successful candidate will have a proven and effective track record of leadership in an administrative position such as dean, associate dean, or department chair that demonstrates the candidate's commitment to innovation and improvement.
