Director of Choral Activities
Job Summary
This position will provide leadership for our choral music program, as well as choral education for students seeking licensure. We seek a talented individual who is passionate about teaching and invested in the success of our students. If you desire to make a difference in the lives of undergraduate students, the School of Visual and Performing Arts in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University invites you to apply for a tenure-track faculty position to begin August 20, 2024. Review of applications will begin December 1, 2023, and continue until the position is filled.
Principle Responsibilities:
Teaching courses on choral conducting, choral music education, and observation and evaluation of student educators is expected. Other course assignments will be determined based on the candidate’s strengths and expertise. Ohio Northern University faculty teach 4 courses each semester. Additional responsibilities include advising undergraduate students, scholarship/creative activity, and service.
Required Skills:
Applicants should be committed to advancing the knowledge and practice of choral pedagogy. Applicants must also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
A DMA in Choral Conducting or a related field such as a PhD in Music Education is required. An ABD will be considered if all degree requirements will be completed before 9/15/2024
