Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) in Cultural Studies (Presidential Young Professorship), Department of Communications and New Media
The Department of Communications and New Media at the National University of Singapore invites applications for tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor (Presidential Young Professor) rank, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: digital media cultures; cultural studies in Asia; environment and culture; cultural analytics and digital humanities.
The position requires a doctorate in in Cultural Studies, Communication or a closely related discipline (e.g. Sociology or Anthropology) by date of appointment; evidence of excellence in teaching and research.
Responsibilities will include research and teaching. The successful candidate is expected to teach in the Communications and New Media undergraduate programme, the Cultural Studies in Asia PhD programme, and the Master of Social Sciences (Communication) and the Master of Art (Arts and Cultural Entrepreneurship) programmes. Other duties include supervision of honours and graduate students, and administrative service. The anticipated start date is July 2024.
