The Department of Global Studies and Modern Languages at Drexel University is an interdisciplinary unit that brings together experts on world affairs, international relations, global culture, language, international economics, and more.

Job Summary

The Teaching Assistant's primary responsibility would be to teach Korean language courses at the beginning through intermediate levels. They would teach 1 or 2 courses per quarter, depending on the demand. Additionally, the TA would assist the language lead with planning co-curricular events for the Korean language students. This could include conversation hours, participating in a language club or language table, and organizing other relevant events.

Essential Functions
  • Teach required number of credit hours per semester based on their contract
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills related to teaching methodology, curriculum development and evaluation.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum as needed.
  • Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes.
  • Schedule office hours for student consultation, or at least be available by appointment.
  • Maintain communication with the language lead and/or department head regarding any course or student issues.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.
