Department of Economics

Assistant Professor (Two Positions)

Two tenure-track, 10-month, assistant professor positions in the Department of Economics beginning August 2024. One position meets the needs arising from a retirement and the other meets the needs of the department’s new Economic Analytics (M.S.) program. The positions are open field. A Ph.D. in economics from an U.S. institution of higher education is required at the time of hire. Successful candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarly achievement. Preferences given to candidates with a field in Industrial Organization, International Trade, Urban Economics, Environmental or Natural Resource Economics, Economic History, Macroeconomics, or Econometrics. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong theory background and demonstrated skills in causal machine learning or computational techniques, but other methodologies are welcome. The expected teaching load is 18 credit hours (6 courses) per year. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses at the Master’s level. Department of Finance

Assistant Professor

 

Tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor position in the Department of Finance beginning August 2024. Ph.D. in Finance from an AACSB accredited institution. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will be at the Instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by August 1, 2024. Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching and advising/mentoring students, promise to high quality research, and the ability to work in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Professional certifications such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) will be helpful. Candidates who can teach new data analytical tools such as Python and/or Tableau are preferred. Faculty assigned an instructional workload of six (6) course units per academic year. Teach traditional and online format courses within the finance discipline at the undergraduate and graduate levels as directed by the chair. Primary areas of interest for teaching and research should be Investments and/ or Corporate Finance. Secondary areas may be Financial Planning. Department of Management

Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, Strategy/Entrepreneurship and/or Organizational Behavior (2 positions)

Two positions in the Department of Management, beginning August 2024: Assistant or Associate Professor in Strategy/Entrepreneurship; and/or Assistant or Associate Professor in Organizational Behavior. Ph.D. in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Behavior, Organization Theory, or Business Administration from an AACSB-accredited institution. ABDs with expected graduation date no later than Feb 1, 2025, will be considered. Applicants will need to demonstrate potential for strong research, excellent teaching, and service aligned with the college’s expected outcomes of impact, innovation, and engagement. Faculty member will be assigned a teaching workload of six (6) courses per academic year in strategy and entrepreneurship such as Business Policy & Strategy, Principles of Management, or in organizational behavior/org. theory, such as Management of Organizational Behavior, or Organization Theory and Development, with a possibility of teaching graduate courses, as well. Faculty member is expected to pursue research leading to refereed journal publications in the field of management. Faculty member is expected to engage in service to the department, college, university, community, and professional associations. The successful candidates will join a department that is committed to scholarly productivity, students’ excellence, and innovative and technology focused experiential teaching. COLLEGE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONS

Department of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science

Assistant Professor

Tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor position in the Department of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science beginning August 2024. Earned post-professional research doctoral degree by February 28, 2025. Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the State of Maryland; teaching experience in occupational therapy or occupational science; and active research agenda with capacity for scholarly productivity and external funding. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated awareness and clear articulation of strategies to foster an inclusive learning environment. Commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, scholarship, and service. Salary is commensurate with experience and rank; ABD candidates will be hired at the rank of lecturer until doctoral degree is completed. Primary responsibilities include Teaching: Facilitate classroom and applied learning experiences for diverse graduate professional students in occupational therapy and occupational science, advise and mentor students, and direct student research at the doctoral level. Scholarship: Conduct and disseminate research and seek external funding to support focused area of inquiry.
