Position Responsibilities

We are seeking an adjunct instructor to teach an interactive and experiential course covering the topic of adult and pediatric evaluation and assessment. OCCT 689: Occupational Therapy Evaluation and Assessment is a 3-credit (2 lecture hour; 2 lab hour) course during the Spring 2024 semester that introduces the evaluation process as it relates to occupation, occupational performance skills, client factors, and context. This course focuses on general evaluation as well as specific use of assessments for various clients, practice settings, and environments. Oral and written communication, documentation, and use of assessment data to develop intervention and discharge plans for individuals is also covered. This is a fully immersive in-person course taught in our College of Health Professions building, with course content being delivered weekly. Responsibilities include adaptation of and presentation of course lecture and lab content, use of Canvas as the course learning management system, grading of all content, and submission of course evaluation.

Required Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor, Master, or OTD degree
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an occupational therapist in Virginia
• Practice and teaching experience in occupational therapy evaluation and assessments
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Occupational therapy Doctorate (OTD) or PhD

Salary Range: Starting at $5,000
