Summary of Job Duties:The Creative Services Specialist is responsible for researching, conceptualizing, and creating print and digital images that promote the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith.
Additionally, this position is responsible for managing multiple projects while adhering to designated production schedules, budgets, and deadlines. This position reports to the Director of Creative Services to ensure objectives are being advanced in accordance with the goals of the Office of Marketing and, moreover, the goals of UAFS.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Work Experience:
- Minimum of an associate degree in graphic design or equivalent formal training program
- Moderate amount of experience working in graphic design, print production, or other related experience.
- Finalist must provide portfolio of digital and print materials that demonstrate applied knowledge of type, color, and layout.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent formal training program
- 1-3 years of professional experience
- Develop and execute design solutions for assigned client projects that meet client communication/marketing objectives and maintain strong visual appearance, usability, and brand continuity.
- Participate in client meetings and coordinate client needs, including documenting client suggestions, preparing design drafts, and presenting solutions to clients.
- Coordinating administrative aspects of production.
- Coordinate projects with copywriters to meet client needs and production schedules.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in current version of Adobe Create Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator; and ability to learn new software techniques/updates.
- Understanding and familiarity with typography
- Ability to design for traditional and digital media.
- Interpersonal skills including a high level of professionalism.
- Excellent oral and writing communication skills.
- Individual drive for productivity, execution, and high standards for all graphic design pieces.
- Excellent organization, time management, customer service skills, and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to edit work for accuracy and quality.
Working Relationships: Work as a part of a dynamic team that positively impacts campus and community.
Special Job Dimensions: Routine work schedule is Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. in-person. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
Salary Information:
Up to $29,800/year, commensurate with education and experience.
