Centenary College of Louisiana invites applications for a director level position to lead the College’s highly successful intercultural and international programs. Centenary maintains a vibrant international education program with 3/4ths of students traveling abroad at least once during their undergraduate education; the College consistently ranks #1 in Open Doors reports in the percentage of undergraduate students participating in study abroad programs among baccalaureate colleges in the United States.

Intercultural Engagement is an experience required of all Centenary students as part of the College’s innovative Trek program. The Director of Global Engagement oversees intercultural and internationally focused educational programs, pursues new opportunities for students to engage in global service or study abroad, and coordinates support for all international degree-seeking and exchange students.

The Director works closely with the Provost and Dean of the College and liaises with key offices on campus. Primary responsibilities include:

  •  Serving as the lead administrator for intercultural travel programs including course development, travel orientations for faculty and students, and assessment of intercultural and study abroad programs.
  •   Leading marketing and promotion of international opportunities.
  •  Supporting international exchange and degree-seeking students throughout their tenure at Centenary.
  •   Serving as the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) to all F-1 visa holding international students on our campus.

Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree in a related field, United States citizenship, and experience in study abroad. The successful candidate will demonstrate cross-cultural sensitivity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage project development and implementation. Preferred qualifications include three to five years related experience; prior teaching or training experience, including familiarity with SEVIS and student Visas; working knowledge of a second language; and/or experience with a selective, residential, liberal arts college. The salary range for this position is $58,000-69,500, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
