The Robinson College of Business (RCB) at Georgia State University (GSU) invites candidates for one or more tenure track faculty positions within the Department of Management in the area of Strategic Management to be effective August 2024. The rank is open. We seek applicants with a passion and demonstrated capability for publishing high-quality research in premier management journals. They should have earned (or will complete) a Ph.D. in a relevant field from an AACSB-accredited university (or international equivalent) prior to appointment. The Department values a commitment to quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Salary, teaching load, and research support are competitive with other Research 1 universities.
Successful candidates will help expand the department’s research profile and curricular offerings at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels. The successful applicants will join a department of faculty and staff who are committed to innovative teaching, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
About the Department and Faculty
The Department of Management is excited about implementing a new strategic plan that calls for creating differentiation by promoting empirical and field research in partnership with industry. The department is composed of outstanding and collegial faculty whose research and teaching interests represent different facets of management including Strategic Management, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and Business Analytics. Our faculty members are enthusiastically engaged in research and regularly publish in the top journals in their disciplines, hold leadership positions in professional associations, and serve as Editor-in-Chief or on the editorial boards of top journals. They also engage with colleagues in other units of the Robinson College of Business, GSU, and neighboring and international universities in a variety of professional activities.

Robinson has broken the business school mold by assembling a faculty encompassing business practitioners, researchers, engineers, scientists, and mathematicians. These experts ensure Robinson students build business acumen and sector‐crossing skills in STEM fields, college partners benefit from broader thinking, and collaborate on pioneering, interdisciplinary research to develop breakthrough market solutions.
The college has 12 academic units and offers two MBA programs, 15 master’s, three graduate certificates in innovation, two doctoral programs (a Ph.D. program with 11 areas of study and a Doctor of Business Administration program), and 11 undergraduate majors.
It offers a suite of signature programs, including WomenLead, its nationally recognized undergraduate leadership program, and week‐long residencies for high‐performing students on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley and Washington, D.C.
Robinson has broad and deep relationships with the Atlanta business community through its insight (analytics) labs focusing on fintech, operations, and social media. The college also is home to discipline‐specific roundtables in financial leadership, human resources, logistics, marketing, and sales.
