The Global Health Initiative (GHI) is a multidisciplinary effort to
reduce health inequalities among underserved populations locally
and worldwide through education, research, service and development
of partnerships. GHI supports and coordinates training, research,
and service activities to reduce disparities in disease burden and
to improve treatment outcomes both at home and abroad.
The Financial & Administrative Coordinator provides
administrative and program support to faculty members, department
manager and program coordinator, assisting with the Emerging
Infectious Scholars Program (EIDS), Brown Ukraine Collaboration and
Global Health Initiative programs. This includes assisting manager
and program coordinator with website maintenance, coordination of
program marketing, coordination of student research funding
applications, Executive and Advisory Committee Meeting
coordination, documentation coordination, event support,
preparation of reports and grant applications to funding agency,
program evaluation coordination, travel coordination for students
and faculty, and tracking student achievements.
This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 7/31/2028
which may be extended based upon available funding.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree with 2-3 years of administrative experience
or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent administrative skills and the ability to prioritize
- Experience with Microsoft Office/Excel, Google Docs, Calendar,
Qualtrics, and Gmail
- Prior experience in an academic or non-profit setting
Background and education check required.
Recruiting Start Date:
- Must be willing and able to provide administrative and
programmatic support to program faculty and staff.
- Must see to the maintenance and organization of research
training program activities.
- Must interact well with other GHI faculty and staff personnel,
with members of the University community, and alumni networks
- Must be willing to learn new software programs and platforms as
needed to support programs.
- Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and
inclusive campus community.
