The Business Manager II supports the business functions of University Career Services. This includes budget monitoring, human resources functions, travel processing, purchasing, contracts, and vendor interactions. This position is also responsible for overseeing the upkeep of facilities and equipment and provides direct supervision of the UCS Administrative Coordinator as well as the coordination of student assistant hiring and scheduling for the University Career Services Center.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO



Manages the business procedures for University Career Services. In consultation with the Director of UCS, monitors the budgets for University Career Services. Advises the Director UCS concerning revenue and expenditure forecast projections, prepares fiscal reports and budget amendments as needed or requested.

Manages fiscal aspects of contract agreements for all areas. Develops and evaluates financial policies and procedures to ensure proper compliance as well as makes recommendations to the Director UCS to enhance such policies.

Manages several funding types including state operational, revenue, foundation, and sponsored funding. Processes and monitors many annual contracts.

Oversees disbursement requests in financial system (including vouchers, travel, purchase orders, journal entries), and performs processing for submission to Director UCS for final payment approval to include weekly and monthly detailed accounting reports and analysis for annual budgets. Manages time approvals for assigned employees. Manages the Student Technology Fee disbursements.

Oversees and supervises UCS office operations including direct supervision of the UCS Administrative Coordinator as well as assigned student employees. Advises on selecting, hiring, and professional development for staff and student assistants.

Oversee and manage Human Resources functions including hiring, transfer, and termination documentation for student assistants, graduate assistants, and staff. Resolves issues in collaboration with the division HRO. Manages student assistant payroll and FWS calculations.

Serves as PantherMart and Spectrum representative for UCS. Attends various trainings and workshops periodically. Provides support and training to UCS staff with regard to these responsibilities and to follow GSU guidelines and policies.

Attends and participates in staff meetings in and trainings. Assists with departmental events, as assigned. Serves as departmental liaison with on and off campus departments and vendors. Occasional travel to other campus locations, Clarkston, Dunwoody, and Decatur. Performs other duties as assigned.





Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and four years of administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Knowledge of USG and GSU HR and financial policies and procedures.

Knowledge of all federal, state, and local compliance rules and regulations.

Knowledge of accounting principles.

Knowledge of business and financial management practices.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software and Programs, Spectrum, OneUSG, Banner, and Blackbaud/Financial Edge.

Ability to supervise, manage and direct others.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations
