FACULTY POSITION: LITURGICAL–SACRAMENTAL THEOLOGY

The Graduate School of Theology at Mount Angel Seminary (St. Benedict, OR) is searching for a theologian eager to participate in the Seminary’s mission of priestly formation and is inviting applications for a full-time faculty position in Liturgical and Sacramental Theology, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, to begin July or August 2024.

Ideal candidates will be systematic or historical theologians who have specialized in liturgical and sacramental theology. Candidates should hold a terminal degree in theology and must be excellent teachers able to offer a range of core courses in liturgical and sacramental theology as members of a vibrant and engaged formative community within the context of a communion ecclesiology centered curriculum as part of the Seminary’s MDiv and MA (Theology) programs.

Mount Angel Seminary, an apostolate of the Benedictine monks of Mount Angel Abbey, is comprised of a Graduate School of Theology and a College of Liberal Arts accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). The Seminary’s primary purpose is the human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral formation of men for the Roman Catholic priesthood; its programs adhere to the norms established by the Holy See and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops as stated in the Program of Priestly Formation (6th ed.). The Graduate School of Theology also offers theological education to qualified laymen and women.
