Responsibilities: The Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music seeks a full-time Assistant Professor of Music to serve as the Associate Director of Bands and Director of the Cowboy Marching Band.
The successful candidate will oversee the Athletic Band Programs including serving as Director of the 300+member OSU Cowboy Marching Band as well as assisting the Director of Bands with the teaching and administration of a comprehensive university band program. Additional teaching responsibilities include conducting the Symphonic Band, teaching within the Music Education sequence as well as other courses assigned according to the qualifications of the applicant and the needs of the School of Music. The candidate is expected to engage in service to the unit and their profession, to be productive as an artist/scholar, and to promote an inclusive workplace and learning environment. This is an 11-month contract.
Qualifications: A preference will be given to a candidate with a completed Doctorate in Conducting or Music Education, Documented experience and a record of success in all areas of college marching band and concert band, and a record of successful secondary school teaching including recruitment and retention. Additionally, the candidate will show evidence of a commitment to working collegially, and collaboratively while demonstrating advanced skills in excellent leadership and communication.

The Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music has thirty-six full-time and thirteen part-time faculty members and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.
