Job Summary
The Senior Education Abroad Advisor will be responsible for promoting study abroad programs to students and faculty, advising and supporting students prior to, during, and after their study abroad experience, and administering select Drexel study abroad programs in select regions of the world. Regional responsibility will include Ireland, Scotland, France, Belgium, Monaco, Switzerland, the Middle East, and Graduate programs but ultimately will be based upon the needs of the Education Abroad office.
In their assigned regions, the Senior Education Abroad Advisor will recruit students and advise them concerning all aspects of the study abroad experience, including but not limited to academic issues, financial aid and billing, health and safety and re-entry. The Senior Education Abroad Advisor will also be the primary liaison with Drexel's partners and providers in the assigned regions.
The Senior Education Abroad Advisor will manage the inbound exchange program, including balances, and all communicating all requirements to inbound exchange students and partner universities. The Advisor will work with AIS, Admissions, Academic Advising units, ISSS, Housing, Health Insurance, and any other relevant Drexel office to prepare for the arrival of inbound students.
The Senior Education Abroad Advisor will administer and help in the development of designated Drexel study abroad programs and exchanges; maintain student records; assist in the planning and implementation of pre-departure orientations; communicate with administrative and academic departments across campus; interact with domestic and international contacts; attend relevant university events and make presentations pertaining to study abroad.
The Senior Education Abroad Advisor will administer and help in the development of designated Drexel education abroad programs and exchanges; maintain student records (including course reports for advising regions); assist in the planning and implementation of pre-departure orientations; communicate with administrative and academic departments across campus; interact with domestic and foreign contacts; attend and present at relevant university events, and create presentations pertaining to study abroad.
The Senior Education Abroad Advisor is responsible for the high-level donor scholarships: the McNeil Scholarship, for a full academic year study at Aberdeen University in Scotland, and the MDR scholarship, for a full academic year study at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland.
As a leader in the office, the Senior Education Abroad Advisor will also provide continuous review and improvement of processes for efficiency, accuracy and service to students. This includes assisting the Associate Director in training and onboarding new team advisors and the Education Abroad Coordinator.
The Senior Education Abroad Advisor manages the team of student ambassadors, including interviewing, hiring, weekly or bi-weekly meetings, and oversight of programming; including working strategically with the rest of the Education Abroad team to leverage their knowledge, energy, and time to better promote and support marketing initiatives.
Additional projects to contribute to the operations of the office will be assigned according to office needs. Occasional nights and weekends required. Domestic and international travel may be required.
The Senior Education Abroad Advisor reports to the Associate Director of Education Abroad.

- Recruiting and advising students interested in participating in programs in assigned regions of the world
- Managing all aspects of Inbound Exchange program
- Supervising Study Abroad Student Ambassadors
- Communicating with various education abroad stakeholders including administrative and academic departments across campus as well as international contacts
- Attending relevant university events and making presentations pertaining to their portfolio of education abroad opportunities as well as education abroad in general
- Developing marketing campaigns, events, and sessions to recruit students
- Attending various regional and national conferences and represent Drexel's education abroad office at various university events
- Managing and developing content for the inbound orientation
- Providing coverage when other staff members are out of the office
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 4 years relevant experience working in international education, preferably education abroad
- Experience living, working, and/or studying abroad
- Knowledge of educational systems of other countries
- Experience with Banner, Hyperion and the MSOffice suite
- Ability to set goals and complete projects with a high degree of independence
- Must be a self-starter and flexible
- Ability to communicate persuasively, attention to detail, and ability to handle several tasks at once
- Managing curriculum integration efforts in assigned academic area
- Other duties as assigned

- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
