INSTRUCTOR OF HEALTH & HUMAN SCIENCES
(Community and Personal Health Educator)
The Department of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) seeks a full-time, Instructor of HHS beginning January 1, 2024.
Successful candidates will have an M.S or M.A in Health Education or a closely related field. Preference will be given to candidates who possess the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential, can demonstrate successful practical experience in community health education, the ability to work in a team environment, and the ability to relate their professional experience and knowledge to the needs and interests of students in a small college environment. Primary responsibilities include teaching courses such as health promotions, personal and community health, and implementing health education programs. Additional responsibilities will include recruiting, advising, and mentoring students and participating in departmental and school tasks.
Pay is competitive, and salary is commensurate with experience. This full-time position offers a full benefits package, including paid tuition at the College for eligible dependents.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as the first coeducational college in Virginia. Bridgewater offers bachelor’s degrees in approximately 60 majors and minors, along with four graduate programs, pre-professional programs such as medicine and law, and teacher licensure. The College is a member of NCAA Division III and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, with 23 intercollegiate athletic teams. The vibrant residential campus is located in the town of Bridgewater, Virginia, near the city of Harrisonburg in the center of the Shenandoah Valley.
