Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering
Colorado School of Mines welcomes applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in Professor Anuj Chauhan’s research group tin the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering to continue the research program focused on developing contact lenses for delivering ophthalmic drugs to treat anterior segment and posterior segment diseases. The successful candidate is expected to work with our collaborators on in vivo experiments.
Primary Responsibilities
· Design vitamin E and drug loaded contact lenses.
· Design contact lenses for sustained release of biologics
· Measure release of ophthalmic drugs from contact lenses.
· Supply drug loaded contact lenses to collaborators for in vivo studies
· Prepare reports for the funding agency
· Prepare manuscripts for peer-review publications
· Present research at conferences and symposiums
· Assist in writing research grants
· Serve as mentor to graduate and undergraduate students
Additional Responsibilities
· Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
· PhD. In Chemical Engineering or related field. All PhD requirements should be completed by the time work commences.
· Previous research experience in one or more areas of biomaterials, drug delivery, modeling, contact lenses, ophthalmology.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in biomaterials and drug delivery. Any experience with ophthalmic drug delivery is preferred but not required.
Job Demands and Working Conditions
· Must be able to re-locate and work in-person in the laboratory.
Potential Environmental Conditions/Hazards
· Be skilled in the handling of common solvents and gas mixtures.

Salary and Benefits
Annual salary rate of $56,000 - $59,500
