Assistant Professor

The Department of Biophysics and Biophysical Chemistry at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Scientists in the Department work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment fostered by interactions among the nine basic science departments in the Institute for Basic Biomedical Sciences and with colleagues in clinical departments. We seek applications from outstanding scientists whose research addresses fundamental biological problems at a mechanistic level. We will consider all applicants whose research either complements existing strengths or expands the research scope in the department and particularly welcome applicants with expertise in cryo-ET. Current faculty have expertise in areas including cryo-EM, single-molecule biophysics, X-ray crystallography, NMR, and computational biophysics. We have state-of-the-art instrument facilities, including the Johns Hopkins Beckman Center for Cryo-EM (https://cryoem.jhmi.edu/), which is fully equipped for both single-particle cryo-EM and tomography.
