The School of Kinesiology announces the availability of a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Sport Science Research. The candidate will have a commitment to scholarly productivity, grant writing, teaching excellence, and service. The appointment will be effective August 2024.

Qualifications:  Earned doctorate in Kinesiology, or a related field by August 2024. Candidates must provide evidence of scholarly activity that demonstrates a strong potential for publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals, competence in teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in their area of expertise, ability to secure external funding for scholarly activities, and involvement in service to the University and the profession.

Applications are invited from individuals with a research focus on athlete overall health, performance, injury prevention, and/or rehabilitation. Candidates with a track record in studying collegiate athletes’ responses to training and competition, will be considered. Strong consideration will be given to candidates whose expertise in physiology, biomechanics, or sports nutrition pertaining to the health, well-being, and performance of athletes complements and extends the expertise available within the School of Kinesiology. Preferred candidates will have postdoctoral training, evidence of the ability to successfully compete for extramural funding, and have expertise that enhances our research teams’ ability to expand our funding.


Responsibilities:  (1) Develop, or continue, a fundable research program; (2) teach undergraduate courses and/or graduate courses in their related area; (3) provide advisement to graduate students, and direct Ph.D. dissertations; (4) seek external funding support for scholarly activities; (5) serve on School, College, University, and Profession-based committees as appropriate.

Salary:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
