Description
Columbia Basin College ('CBC' or the 'College') seeks a Digital Printing Specialist to operate and maintain the Print Shop's digital printing and finishing equipment in support of the programs and functions of Columbia Basin College. This position will process project and printing requests through our print shop programs using established procedures and will produce quality materials for timely deliveries to our customers. The Digital Printing Specialist requires attention to detail to facilitate print operator tasks in an efficient and productive manner. This position will also support the Graphic Designers with basic design skills as needed. This position reports to the Director for Marketing & Communications.

Primary Responsibilities
- Complete copy projects in compliance with job requests and in accordance with CBC’s Brand quality standards and procedures;
- Operate all digital print shop equipment needed to produce complete customized jobs as described on the job ticket, in accordance with equipment operating procedures; perform all other center functions needed to complete the job;
- Carefully listen to needs from faculty and staff; provide advice on specific courses of action; assess, and analyze situations in order to meet the employee’s request;
- Take the necessary steps to ensure proper delivery to faculty and staff;
- Identify issues, assess problems, and develop alternative solutions to resolve problems;
- Understand and perform necessary troubleshooting procedures on all digital print center equipment;
- Operate the forklift to move pallets of paper and other materials to required locations;
- Conduct routine inventory check for the Graphics & Printing Department; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent; and
- One (1) year of customer service experience.
- Associate's degree or equivalent in a computer technology-related field from an institutionally accredited college or university;
- Familiarity with printing processes, including offset printing, plate making, process color reproductions, digital imaging and digital output; and
- Familiarity with basic Adobe programs used in design including Adobe, InDesign and Illustrator.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is a full-time, overtime eligible, classified staff position. The typical work hours for this position are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; however, must be available to work a flexible schedule when prior notice is given by the College. This position is available immediately.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility including having the ability to move materials on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc. and travel between buildings on campus. Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate equipment such as forklift, printing equipment, computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Usual office working conditions. The noise level in the work area is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises.
