Program Manager
Job Summary
The U.S.-Canada Center on Climate-Resilient Western Interconnected Grid at the University of Utah has an immediate opening for a “Program Manager” position to work with the center director, faculty, collaborators, and stakeholders to direct, coordinate, and implement the research, workforce development and innovation programs of the center.
Responsibilities
The position responsibilities are as follows:
· Coordinate procedural matters to ensure the successful and timely operation of multiple research, development and educational projects related to the U.S.-Canada Center on Climate-Resilient Western Interconnected Grid.
· Prepare presentations and frequent (e.g., quarterly, annually) project reports and performs evaluation of project effectiveness.
· Organize seminars, workshops, luncheons and other meetings and leading associated communication, and making travel arrangements.
· Maintain and oversee the maintenance of project data and documents, meetings minutes, recordings, lists, or files.
· Plan and implement procedural changes/modifications for the projects.
· Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance within project budget and schedule.
· Take meeting minutes and action items during meetings and performs basic follow-up with project participants and monitor their timely progress on actions.
· Facilitate the purchase of necessary equipment and ongoing maintenance requirements.
· Assist in the preparation of project proposals, research materials, and outreach publications.
· Act as resource person and coordinator for explaining and complying with applicable Federal, State, and University Policies and Procedures.
· Acts as liaison between the projects and internal or external stakeholders.
· Design and develop research and outreach marketing materials, including writing articles, news and develop and maintain websites and social media.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have experience of proposing, managing, or participating in large multi-institution research and development projects, understanding of reporting needs of federally funded projects, as well as successful experience in stakeholder engagement and organization of large events.
Ph.D. in a related field is preferred, but candidates with M.Sc. degree plus five years of experience in budget, grant and program management are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication and demonstrated management skills also required.

Benefits
The position comes with a competitive benefit package, including medical/dental/vision/life plan and up to 14.2% contribution to your retirement plan, and salary commensurate with the experience. The position starts immediately, with initial appointment of one year, which is renewable for 5 years and beyond depending on the availability of funding and satisfactory performance.

Minimum Qualifications
