Assistant Prof. WOT, Dept of Peds, Division of Immunology, Ctr for Immunity & Immunotherapies

The Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Center for Immunity & Immunotherapies (CIIT) in the Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI) is recruiting a full time Assistant Professor (without tenure by reason of funding). The position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and will be on the faculty-scientist pathway. Anticipated start date is Fall/Winter 2024.

This position will be expected to conduct basic or translational laboratory-based research in an area relevant to human or mouse immune cell development and/or function, including but not limited to immunodeficiencies, immune dysregulation, cell therapies, genetic engineering, in vivo delivery, genomics, or imaging.

SCRI based faculty are also active participants in University of Washington based graduate training programs including Molecular and Cellular Biology, Immunology, M3D, MSTP and others.

Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors MD $13,545 - $20,318 per month ($162,545 - $243,817 annually), Assistant Professors Non-MD $8,693 - $10,770 per month ($104,320 - $129,247 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Qualifications

Requires an M.D. or D.O., or foreign equivalent. A PhD in a relevant field, or M.D./Ph.D combined (or foreign equivalent), is also acceptable.
