Job Description:
The Annie Taylor Dee School of Nursing at Weber State University seeks innovative and enthusiastic faculty who have a passion for nursing and nursing education. There are three positions available. They are 12 month positions. Position rank will be determined based upon applicant qualifications. If hired as an Instructor, transitioning to tenure-track will require completion of the necessary requirements. Instructor appointments are temporary appointments that are renewable by separate contract at the sole discretion of the University.

Job Duties:
Teaching assignments are contingent upon qualifications and experience. Selected candidates may coordinate and teach both undergraduate and graduate-level courses. In addition, selected candidates may teach in a variety of modalities (face-to-face and online) and at various campus locations. All faculty are required to plan, implement and elevate the existing curriculum.

Required Qualifications:
Required:
  • Master of Science in Nursing. Must have graduated from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program (or related/equivalent).
  • Active unencumbered state of Utah or compact state registered nurse or advanced practice registered nurse license.


Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred:
  • Ability to integrate technology in nursing education.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Basic technology skills.
  • Previous experience as a nurse educator or recent experience as a nurse practitioner.
  • Doctorate degree, teaching experience in higher education.
  • Clinical nursing experience in related area of teaching.
  • Demonstrated scholarship activities.
  • Authored publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision: Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
