The Department of Economics has an opening for (1) Administrative Specialist, Academic . This position will handle all academic duties related to a large academic department. This benefits-eligible position is full-time with the potential to work remotely two days a week, subject to approval of the Department Chair.
The Department of Economics is housed within the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. The department features innovative research resources, including the Experimental Economics Laboratory, and maintains a strong multi-disciplinary approach to policy analysis. The department has 31 full-time faculty members and will grow over the next five years to over 40 faculty, making it one of the largest economics departments in the country. A full range of degrees – Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. degrees – is offered.
Economics instruction at the Andrew Young School is distinguished by its emphasis on policy and evaluation. Our faculty specialize in public economics, environmental and labor economics, urban and regional economics, the economics of education and experimental methods, with growing emphasis on the empirical evaluation of public policies and programs .

BELOW YOU WILL FIND SAMPLE DUTIES TIED TO THIS POSITION:
· Scheduling all department undergraduate and graduate courses
· Staffing courses in conjunction with Department Chair
· Troubleshooting student and professor issues and requests
· Managing duties tied to grade changes, registration adjustments, course proposal/revisions, & student complaints
· Supporting undergraduate and graduate advisors
· Member of teaching certificate team
· Ordering textbooks and classroom technology
· Department scholarship coordinator
· Pulling and analyzing reports/data for learning outcomes, surveys, State of the Dept, etc.
· Compiling graduate student pay paperwork and maintaining pay spreadsheet
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and four years of admin experience or high school diploma and eight years of admin experience or a combination of education and related experience.
