The School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. The position has an anticipated start date of August 2024. We are interested in applicants with a research focus in any aspect of spatial analytics /geographic information science. The successful candidate will join a dynamic faculty working closely with colleagues in the Spatial Analysis Research Center (SPARC) to advance innovative and interdisciplinary GIScience. As part of ASU’s investment in the spatial sciences, SPARC members will work to position ASU as a world leader in developing, applying, and teaching spatial-science techniques, lead developments of scientific methods, and advance the capacity of GIScience to generate new knowledge and innovative solutions through collaboration across disciplines.

The successful candidate will teach GIS-related courses in-person and online to geography, planning, and GIS majors, as well as contribute to the PhD program in GIScience. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous, externally-funded research program, generate peer-reviewed research, engage undergraduate and graduate students through effective teaching & mentoring, participate in service to the university and profession, and build productive relationships with faculty both within and beyond the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning.
