Job Summary/Basic Functions
The EKU School of Engineering, Aviation, Construction and Technology (SEACT)'s Aviation program is accepting applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Aviation (Aerospace Management) to begin January 2024.
Primary responsibilities will be 4/4 load teaching undergraduate courses in the Aviation program (Aerospace Management), service and scholarly activities.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications: an aviation-related terminal degree, recent experience in the aviation industry or an aviation academic setting, and experience with a University FAR Part 141 Flight Training program.
Additional responsibilities for this position include: Advising Professional Flight, Aerospace Management and Unmanned Aircraft Systems students; monitoring overall student progress; being available to students desiring advice or consultation; serving as faculty advisor for student organizations; developing and fostering aviation industry connections; participating in curriculum implementation, revision, and evaluation; and participating in recruitment events.
A terminal degree in Aviation, Aerospace Management, or related field from a regionally (SACS, North Central, etc.) accredited or internationally recognized institution is required. Applicants must have 3+ recent years of Aviation industry experience. In addition to appropriate teaching credentials, the candidate must also possess a commitment to teaching excellence, service and scholarship. The successful applicant must have excellent written and oral communication skills and must be committed to the continuous improvement process and the outcome-based assessment of the programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: A terminal degree in Aviation, Aerospace Management, or related field from a regionally (SACS, North Central, etc.) accredited or internationally recognized institution is required. Preference will be given to applicants with an emphasis in an Aviation or Aerospace subject area, with a doctorate in a related field and recent aviation industry experience.
Experience: Three year of Aviation industry experience required.
