This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. Position Purpose
International Student Advisors advise international students and the campus community on F-1 international student visa maintenance. Advisors regularly maintain student information held in the federal government database ( SEVIS ) and determine student eligibility for new and updated I-20 documents for a variety of status maintenance issues including but not limited to initial attendance, updated program of study, financial support, work authorization before and after graduation, travel, authorized under-enrollment, academic suspension, and program completion.
Education & Formal Training
Bachelor's degree (Specify field(s) of study below)
Other Education & Formal Training
Bachelor’s degree in College Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education Administration, International Studies, Personnel Management, or in a related field required.
Master’s degree preferred in any field.
Computer Skills
Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Other - database management
Experience
• Experience providing administrative or student support in areas such as developing procedures, program planning and implementation, and/or coordination of efforts between various entities.
• Experience providing services for people of diverse cultural backgrounds preferred.
• Experience planning and implementing programs, policies, and activities required.
• Preferred experience in international affairs.
• Experience and/or working knowledge of various cultures, including international travel or experience living abroad preferred.
• Knowledge of immigration regulations preferred.
• Current or prior DSO status preferred.

Must be U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident to meet federal regulatory requirements for professional practice as a Designated School Official (F-1) or Alternate Responsible Official (J-1).
