Job Description:
The KCU Barista works at one of the beautiful, on-campus coffee shops, providing excellent customer service to KCU students, faculty and staff. This position will also support the Campus Store and Catering Team.
Essential Duties:
- Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders
- Preparing and serving beverages, ranging from simple to complex
- Answering customers’ questions about menu choices
- Promoting and recommending menu options to customers
- Taking payment and operating point-of-sale system
- Maintaining inventory and equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs
- Keeping the work environment sanitary and organized
- Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service
- Provide support to campus store team by working on the floor, cashiering, stocking & restocking items, assisting customers and other special projects
- Assists catering team as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation and timing to optimize guest experience
- Previous barista experience strongly preferred
- Excellent customer service
- Professional, friendly, and outgoing personality
