As part of University Marketing and Communications, the Social
Media Strategist will support the Executive Director of Integrated
Marketing in enhancing the brand and national reputation of the
University. The position works collaboratively with others in the
division to execute, measure and optimize the institution's organic
social media marketing plan. The Social Media Strategist is
responsible for developing and posting social media content;
monitoring and responding to social media messages; assisting with
issues management and crisis communications; collaborating with
social media coordinators across campus; reporting on social
analytics and trends; and hiring and supervising student

● Bachelor’s degree.
● Experience in creating on-brand content for social media,
including being a voice for a business, organization or other
● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to quickly establish
rapport with people.
● Proven experience in taking initiative, meeting deadlines and
shepherding projects from concept to completion.
● Strong written communication skills, including attention to
detail and focus on facts.
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications,
the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
● Two years experience in social media, communications or
● Demonstrated ability to write and schedule engaging, branded and
strategic content and monitor brand feedback.
● Experience with social community management (e.g., monitoring
brand feedback, social listening, issues management).
● Demonstrated success in following social media trends and
implementing a social media campaign.
● Experience benchmarking, monitoring and analyzing social media
performance using tools such as Falcon.io, Hootsuite, Sprout
Social, Facebook Insights, etc.
● Confident communicator with the ability to effectively develop
