Reporting to the Director of Transfer Admission, the Senior
Assistant Director of Transfer Admission/Systems works as part of
an admissions unit responsible for the recruitment and admission of
international and domestic transfer students. The candidate will
help guide prospective students and families through the steps to
enrollment, and be involved in a range of virtual and on/off campus
transfer programs, counselor meetings and applicant interviews. The
review of transfer applicants and awarding of transfer credit, as
well as advanced standing credit, will be part of the candidates

A hybrid schedule, with a remote focus, is available with a mixture
of minimal in-office hours.
Primary Responsibilities:
Represent the University both virtually and in-person at college
fairs, secondary schools, universities and colleges abroad, and
community colleges in the United States. Travel/recruit
occasionally between the fall and spring semesters. Conduct virtual
and on/off-campus interviews with students and families as
requested. Demonstrated understanding of Suffolk Universitys
mission, commitment to globalization, and how our urban location
presents a unique opportunity for prospective students. Candidate
must be able to think strategically about recruitment markets, and
take a creative approach to increase the enrollment of
undergraduate students.
Responsible for the timely and accurate evaluation of approximately
400-500 applicants (freshmen and transfers), and issuing admission
decisions and rankings for honors consideration or special
financial aid merit programs. Reviewing and awarding transfer
credit for international and domestic applicants. Counsels
applicants, their families, school counselors and advisors on
Suffolk Universitys admission policies and procedures. Develops and
implements staff training initiatives focused on transfer credit
workflow, transfer credit evaluation and transfer credit
equivalencies. Develops and implements a streamlined course
equivalency process for transfer credits that includes courses, AP,
IB, CLEP, and military credits.
Producing academic progress report evaluations through Workday and
Slate and linking to student records
Developing best practice for new Workday system upgrade
communication plan for transfers
Updating course equivalency database for all institutions that
Suffolk received transfer candidates
Bridging communication with Registrar and Academic Advising to
properly place students in correct degree plan
Coordinating curriculum updates in both Workday and Admissions
communications
Maintaining accurate transfer credit count for each enrolled
transfer student
Help coordinate application generation and yield events such as
area receptions, Open Houses, and Suffolk Showcase. Assist the
Welcome Center in conducting virtual and on-campus information
sessions and programming for students and families.
Requirements/Qualifications:
At least 3-5 years of experience working in college admission and
recruitment. Registrar experience a plus/credit evaluation
experience - experience with transfer credit equivalency
systems
Bachelors Degree Required
High level of emotional intelligence and ability to work with
students, faculty, and staff from different cultures and
backgrounds
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge/understanding of general education curriculum
(understanding of Massachusetts Community College general education
foundation a plus)
Familiarity of how to interpret an academic progress report/degree
evaluation.
Bilingual candidate preferred, but not required
Ability to manage multiple projects independently and
efficiently
Strong time management, attention to detail, and ability to meet
strict, frequent deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with technology including Word, Excel, CRM systems
(preferably Slate), social media, Zoom, WebEx, Google Meet,
Microsoft Teams, etc.
Ability to engage and network with prospective applicants,
families, transfer advisors, and secondary school counselors
Experience in the evaluation of foreign credentials (outside of
USA) preferred
Must have at least two years of driving experience and have a valid
drivers license from the U.S. or U.S. Territories; must submit to
an annual driver record check and maintain an acceptable driving
record per university and/or insurance carrier requirements; must
complete the University driver safety training within 60 days of
hire and additional driver training as needed
