Dr. Jessica Gill’s Clinical Translational Laboratory in the School of Nursing is seeking aResearch Program Managerwho will oversee all aspects of on-going existing investigator and/or industry-initiated study protocols. This position will report to the Clinical Laboratory Director and work in collaboration with multiple Physician-Investigators. The Research Program Manager will provide guidance on budget planning and be responsible for the effective utilization of resources.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage overall day to day research administration activities and staff, including Research Program Coordinators.
  • Work directly with the principal investigator, study coordinators, and a research fellow to execute multiple study protocols.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of study protocols as well as knowledge of the key principles of clinical trials design and practice.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of all assigned protocols and their requirements.
  • Responsible for overall effective and efficient management of program activities.
  • Communicate regularly with principal investigator and collaborators to review overall study progress.
  • Prepare and maintain study protocols and reports for the Institutional Review Board and sponsors.
  • Prepare and maintain study protocols and documentation for Mutual Transfer Agreements
  • Adhere to all protocol and regulatory requirements to ensure the validity of clinical research data.
  • Oversee the development and ongoing maintenance of standard operating procedures and work plans.
  • Assures project management tasks are completed (i.e., prioritize, establish timeliness, set milestones, perform monitoring, and track status).
  • Assures team productivity; develop and lead improvements in team functioning as required.
  • Serve as back-up to assist in the collection and processing of data and biospecimens.
  • Monitor and prepare project budgets and allocation of project resources.
  • May be involved in reconciling study related invoices.
  • Supervisory responsibility for other researchers within the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. Related Master's preferred.
  • Five years related experience, including demonstrated supervisory or lead responsibilities.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
