Exam Proctor



Overview : The Office of Student Accessibility and Educational Opportunity is currently searching for an Exam Proctor and Administrative Support. The primary focus of this position will be proctoring exams for students with testing accommodations in SAEO’s Testing Access Center and assisting with administrative tasks including the creation of accommodation letters and formatting tests.

Responsibilities: The SAEO Exam Proctor and Administrative Support is responsible for administering and monitoring exams for SAEO’s Testing Access Center and assisting with administrative tasks. The responsibilities are as follows:

Exam Proctor
  • Administer all exams proctored in the Testing Access Center.

  • Ensure that each student has the opportunity to complete their exam according to all specific directions provided by the professor and their approved accommodations.

  • Maintain a quiet and distraction-free testing environment.

  • Ensure that the VCU Honor Code and security of all exams are upheld.

  • File reports with Student Conduct and Academic Integrity when there are violations of academic integrity.

  • Monitor the Testing Access Center in person and using a CCTV system.

  • Preserve the confidentiality of all students and testing materials.

Administrative Support
  • Monitor database for incoming accommodation letter requests

  • Create accommodation letters for students

  • Assistance formatting exams that need to be converted to alternative and accessible versions in keeping with a student’s accomodations

  • Provide support for the general SAEO office operations (responding to emails, answering phones, speaking with students, faculty, and visitors)

The Exam Proctor and Administrative Support may fulfill other office duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum:
  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree required

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Google suite and databases.

  • Ability to work in a diverse environment.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Psychology, Special Education, Rehabilitation, Counseling, Social Work, or related field).

  • Some experience with the provision of testing accommodations in an educational setting, preferred.

  • 1+ year experience working with students with physical, sensory, learning, psychological and/or other disabilities in an educational or clinical setting (internship or part-time experience considered).

  • Some experience with the provision of testing accommodations in an educational setting, preferred.

Salary Range: $37,000 - $39,500
