Job Description:
This is a highly visible position serving as the official front-line representative for the Brown Alumni Relations office, providing information and assistance to walk-in visitors and callers, and responding to all mail and e-mail inquiries. The incumbent is also the (telephone) voice of Alumni Relations, providing support to numerous alumni, members of the local community, and guests at the University. As part of the Operations team, this position coordinates and manages the Maddock Alumni Center & Gardens usage and adherence to its policies, and monitors annual Maddock Alumni Center endowment spending. The incumbent also helps coordinate executive operations for the Vice President of Alumni Relations, and the Director of Finance and Operations by managing select projects and programs.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a related field such as
nonprofit, higher education, customer service, public relations, or
hospitality.
- Experience in supervising and evaluating student interns.
- Experience using office software programs: scheduling, email,
word processing, database, and spreadsheets.
- Experience handling multi-line phone systems.
- Demonstrated ability with multi-tasking: evaluating and
prioritizing requests, and channeling requests to the appropriate
resource.
- Available to work nights and weekends based on special
events
- Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and
Belonging (DEIB), including experience/ability to identify and
emphasize diverse perspectives in programming, communications, and
strategy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills: professionalism, patience, and
tact in dealing with a wide variety of people and
circumstances.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to retain or gather large amounts of
information; familiarity with Brown University a plus.
- Ability to maintain "grace under pressure" while managing
competing priorities.
