Systems Administrator

Description:

Skidmore College is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic candidate to join the Technical Services Systems team within the Information Technology Department. The successful candidate will be part of a team whose responsibilities include 24/7 system uptime. Among the major systems Technical Services supports are Windows and Linux based servers, Office 365 and Azure Cloud, AWS, and Okta Identity Management.

Responsibilities include:

• Configuring, supporting, and maintaining Windows (primary) and Linux systems (secondary) with VMWare ESXi
• Office 365 and Azure Cloud Administration
• Data backup and recovery
• User and file server management
• Using best practices to secure users, servers, and hardware

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree or 3 years of experience in systems administration.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Windows Server Administration.
• Active Directory and file management.
• Basic Linux Systems Administration skills.
• VMWare Virtual Server Administration
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
• Time management skills and the ability to multitask.
• Must be flexible. Occasional after hours support is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Windows Server and Office 365 Cloud Administration
• PowerShell Scripting
• Experience with Linux Operating Systems is a plus
• Good written and verbal communication, with an emphasis on customer service
• Work efficiently, both independently and collaboratively
• Bachelors degree

Pay Range: Salary will be commensurate with experience.
