The Department of Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position.

With a history of over 100 years of innovation and creativity in research and education, the department is one of the premier chemical engineering departments in the country and represents one of seven academic departments in the nationally 4th ranked College of Engineering. The student body includes approximately 200 undergraduate, 80 Masters, and 100 PhD students. The diverse and collaborative faculty includes 18 tenure-track, 1 research-track and 1 teaching-track faculty complemented by courtesy and adjunct faculty. Carnegie Mellon University is located in Pittsburgh PA, an affordable city to live in with outstanding cultural offerings, abundant green spaces, excellent public schools, and an easily accessible airport that offers 125 nonstop destinations in the US and abroad. Pittsburgh is the home of several other world-class research universities, a growing technology industry that includes Google and Duolingo, and has a major research hospital (UPMC) that our faculty collaborate with.

Applicants must have earned a PhD in chemical engineering or a closely related field of engineering or science. We are open with respect to rank and research area; applicants with an experimental focus of chemical engineering will be of particular interest. For senior level applicants, teaching experience and an internationally recognized record of research are expected.
