Ensure campus planning and services to achieve a well-planned,
beautiful and functional landscape for the University’s grounds.
Provide University landscape design and planning (i.e. master,
landscape, site furnishing, and building sites). Maintain campus
drawings, master plans and maps. Supervise the maintenance and
service of the landscape/grounds of the University. Information

- Work on project management of various landscape and planning
projects related to the University landscape. Perform the work
necessary, including design, procurement, construction management,
and close-out. Prepare and draw landscape and irrigation
- Oversee the landscape/grounds department by managing personnel
decisions (hiring/firing), training and mentorship, salary
decisions, completing performance evaluations, and making work
- Maintain the health and beauty of the campus. Work with crew
members to assign realistic objectives. Develop worker skills by
planning and conducting classes that teach proper grounds-care
- Supervise the maintenance of the irrigation system, equipment,
and daily workload for the grounds crew. Manage those tasked with
performing functional work of repairs.
- Control the grounds budget by recommending the budget amounts
for maintenance and expenditures.
- Create and maintain University landscape construction standards
for new projects on campus. Create and maintain operation and
maintenance manuals and schedules on newly installed projects. Work
with grounds crew member to implement O&M manuals and
- Analyze architectural and engineering documents provided by
outside consultants to ensure that documents accurately record
field conditions and are dimensionally accurate. Check plans for
irrigation system compatibility.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture or related field
- At least three years’ related experience required; experience
working in or with higher education preferred.
- Expertise in working with landscape equipment.
- Good computer and general office skills relating to Microsoft
Office Suite, Google Platform, etc.
- Spatial aptitude is required, with the ability to easily
visualize and sketch a floor plan during a walk-through of a
- Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal;
ability to work with Facilities Management staff regarding critical
information, safety issues, work requests, problems, upcoming
needs, and tasks within one’s scope that impact other personnel
within the unit.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
- Basic understanding of building construction and architecture
professional staff (overtime-exempt) position. Annual salary of
$57,000+ depending on qualifications & experience. Desired
