Job Description
As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University is seeking an Academic Commons Administrative Coordinator to promote our Catholic Franciscan Mission and Identity by providing exceptional service to students, faculty, and staff by acting as the primary point of contact for all communication for the Academic Commons. This position also assists with student hiring, scheduling, payroll, and reporting, monitoring facilities and information technology helpdesk tickets, and promoting Academic Commons events to internal and external audiences. This position requires strong communication and organization skills as well as the ability to anticipate and address client needs.

Job Description
As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University is seeking an Academic Commons Administrative Coordinator to promote our Catholic Franciscan Mission and Identity by providing exceptional service to students, faculty, and staff by acting as the primary point of contact for all communication for the Academic Commons. This position also assists with student hiring, scheduling, payroll, and reporting, monitoring facilities and information technology helpdesk tickets, and promoting Academic Commons events to internal and external audiences. This position requires strong communication and organization skills as well as the ability to anticipate and address client needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
- Monitor academiccommons@marian.edu email account and phone number. Respond to messages promptly. Follow up with the appropriate contacts to ensure that delegated requests are fulfilled.
- Compile tutoring statistics and data into monthly reports, identifying and tracking trends and issues.
- Assist Academic Commons staff with the continual development of physical space and infrastructure to best support evolving activities and structure.
- Work with the appropriate Academic Commons staff to schedule requested room requests, instruction sessions, and outreach event participation.
- Create, maintain, and share a daily schedule of Academic Commons activities and space reservations.
- Create and print updated Academic Commons temporary signage when necessary.
- Work with campus partners and student employees to create, post, and share print and online promotional materials for Academic Commons events.
- Assist Executive Director with budget documentation and monitoring.
- Purchase and receive office and programming supplies for the Academic Commons.
- Act as a resource and backup to student Academic Commons information desk employees.
- Partner with the Academic Commons Librarian to ensure that student employees receive service updates in a timely matter.
- Coordinate the scheduling and posting of building hours with the Academic Commons Librarian.
- Maintain a list of facilities requests and follow up to ensure completion.
- Assist Academic Commons departmental leads (Library, Tutoring, Exchange, Educational Technology, Supplemental Instruction, Graduate Support) with administrative tasks as needed when time allows.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with Canva preferred
