Summary:
The College of Lake County seeks a Digital Content Coordinator to create and coordinate the production of digital marketing content for its website and digital properties. The ideal candidate will be a strong copywriter and have the ability to use a content management system, bonus points if they are familiar with Sitefinity. Under the direction of the Website Design and Content Manager, the Digital Content Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that CLC's various audiences' needs are met during their customer journey through the strategic use of content. They will develop and distribute compelling and well-organized content based on a thorough understanding of CLC's objectives, user needs and best practices. The role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives on creating content and being “in the weeds.” CLC seeks a coordinator who can demonstrate the college's benefits, generate demand, grow brand awareness and ultimately help drive increased enrollment.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or public relations
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in content creation and web content management or related field
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, image editing and optimizing images for web
  • Familiar with WCAG accessibility standards
  • Experience working with web content management systems and SEO
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Acrobat
  • Experience with strategic brainstorming, campaign development and execution
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Self-starter with excellent communication skills who can produce accurate and timely work
  • Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking and acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines
  • Sound understanding of graphic design and a keen appreciation of the interplay between textual and visual elements
  • Team player able to listen to team’s needs, collaborate and deliver on objectives
  • Proven ability to work effectively and constructively with people of diverse cultures, language groups and abilities
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.

Summary of Essential Functions:
Project and Process Management - 35%
  • Funnel a variety of digital content in the right streams of communication, prioritizing strategic college plan messages
  • Ensure all digital content is on brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for internet search and user experience for a diverse audience
  • Showcase faculty expertise and position CLC as a thought leader in the Lake County community
  • Engage user experience with optimized headlines, content and transmission methods
  • Leverage data to develop content themes/topics and execute plans to develop assets that support a point of view and educate students and potential students - understand key drivers and needs of customer groups
  • Guide content owners, writers and editors through shared governance content guidelines and process
  • Coordinate with content owners, writers and editors for content updates and/or page performance improvements
  • Provide CMS training and support to content writers and editors when necessary
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively coordinate digital tactics for marketing campaigns and projects



Technology Support - 35%
  • Proofread and edit copy written by others to ensure CLC website is populated with up-to-date, audience-specific elements and information, including videos, promotions and programming priorities according to AP, brand and voice style guide standards
  • Publish website copy and other marketing assets such as testimonials, videos, images and graphics, adhering to WCAG accessibility guidelines
  • Manage a web content calendar for content audits focused on accuracy, timeliness and accessibility
  • Track and report site/page traffic, performance and accessibility to improve result rankings
  • Employ Google Analytics, A/B testing, user experience research and other methods/tools to measure and manage site engagement
  • Ensure all content is on brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, mobile, and print engagement
  • Develop processes throughout college to help ensure various web pages are kept up-to-date

Other - 30%
  • Strategically build relationships with thought leaders and influencers to grow brand, product and industry awareness
  • Provide competitive research and industry insights for benchmarking and comparison
  • Engage in marketing team brainstorm planning sessions to define, implement and review marketing campaigns
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication by conducting surveys, inquiries and other elements of the communication performance management
  • Other duties as assigned
