Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Project Manager, Capital Projects. This is a full-time, calendar year, continuing position.
The individual will provide project management services to the College community including renovation, deferred maintenance and other College related projects.
Rhode Island College is a regional comprehensive public college that serves approximately 6,400 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students through its five schools: the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development, the School of Business, the School of Nursing and the School of Social Work. Established in 1854, we are Rhode Island’s first public institution of higher education. The college is located on a beautiful 180-acre suburban campus in the vibrant city of Providence, and has satellite locations at the Rhode Island Nursing Education Center in Providence’s Innovation District and the Rhode Island College Workforce Development Hub in Central Falls, RI. The Capital Projects department is responsible for the planning, design and construction of all major capital projects on campus, as well as many facilities improvements throughout campus.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of cumulative experience in project management with experience in the planning, design, and construction administration project phases.
- Knowledge and experience of industry standard project management practices.
- Working knowledge of building code requirements and standard construction specifications
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working as an owner’s representative or project manager in a college or university setting, or other large, diverse institutional setting
Experience using a computer aided design and computer project scheduling systems
(MS Project experience) OSHA-10 training
Bilingual
