Job Description Summary
The Broadcast Studio engineer is responsible for providing professional services to operate, maintain and troubleshoot the audio, video, lighting and related production equipment and media distribution systems in the Center for Performing Arts. Utilize extensive experience in video and audio production systems engineering, to lead, manage and maintain all technical aspects of the audiovisual and broadcast operations control center for three theaters, the TV production studio, the TV master control room, the media distribution and asset server system, a network of video display monitors, the radio studio and other related audio and video production equipment as needed. Collaborate with faculty to teach students in this new communication and media hub. Articulate and implement the vision and agenda for developing the broadcast center into a critical resource on campus and an asset for representing the college to the world.

Minimum Qualifications
- The ideal candidate must have a bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline and a minimum of 5 years experience in A/V systems engineering.
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Have at least one (1) video processing platform certification or one (1) control system platform certification or InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist ( CTS ) certification or Dante I and Dante II certification.

- Managing day-to-day operations of the CPA control center, TV studio, TV master control room, media server and theatrical control rooms as needed.
- Providing technical support for video and audio productions before, during and after classes, as well as other recorded and/or live events and activities produced or presented in the CPA .
- Oversee and manage the daily usage of the TV studio and control room by staff and students, and create policies for access and usage.
- Installing, maintaining, and facilitating repair of specialized equipment; select and recommend equipment purchases; develop relationships and collaborate with equipment vendors and distributors.
- Provide system and component-level maintenance of video production and/or live streaming and receiving equipment, non-linear editing systems, and server based storage solutions.
- Assisting with Master Control and Production Automation Systems.
- Assisting with various Video and Audio over IP based Systems.
- Support, troubleshoot, and maintain Avid Nexis multiuser video storage system used by instructional staff and students for non-linearing editing projects.
- Studio Camera set-up, monitoring and color matching.
- Routing, recording and encoding video signals from various locations in the CPA .
- Operate and manage broadcast and theatrical intercom system
- Test audio DSP and video processing systems software required for system functionality.
- Demonstrated experience trouble shooting complex AV system problems under pressure.
- Coordinate and execute routine day-to-day troubleshooting and maintenance functions on all A/V systems, TV studio and theater production equipment in the CPA .
- Provide technical support for the following media applications:
Digital Content Delivery, Transcoding, Archive, Post-Production,
and Ingest Operations.
Sr. Systems Engineer - System maintenance: perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, routine and preventive maintenance of A/V equipment in the TV studio, master control room and theater control booths.
- Provide technical support and expertise for the radio studios and audio equipment as needed
- Work closely with the mass communications and theater departments and other areas across the college to coordinate and execute events requiring A/V services in the CPA .
- Collaborating with PGCC -TV, faculty, student groups, and offices across campus who will use the center for courses, clubs, activities, organizations, and production projects.
- Providing technical support to end users.
- Reading and understanding electronic schematic and system diagrams.
- Documenting quality standards, system anomalies, operational procedures, reference materials and project work.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Hiring, scheduling, and mentoring students who will work in the center as interns and paid employees.
- Must have the flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule – Must have weekend, holiday and some early morning/ midday/late evening weekday availability.
- The work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
- As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. Citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
