University Center Assistant

Schedule Information: Monday - Thursday 10:00am - 3:00pm

Hours per Week: 20

Benefits: Prorated Sick & Vacation; Holiday Pay; and 2 Harper Tuition Waivers per semester

Work Conditions: Work is primarily indoor and sedentary in nature.

Duties of Position: Provides general support to the University Center at Harper College related to scheduling student appointments for advising. Provides high quality customer service to students, faculty and staff.

Provides reception for the University Center. Greets visitors, answers telephone, takes and distributes messages and provides information as appropriate.

Schedules and maintains appointments in scheduling software.

Distributes transfer guides, major guides and informational packets. Provides students with other resource materials as needed.

Tracks student contacts and monitors appointment and staffing availability and needs.

Assist with events such as online and in-person information sessions, Harper College general sessions and campus wide activities

Assist Partner Schools as needed.

Assist with campus tours.

Helps maintain University Center resources and inventory.

Follows privacy and confidentiality guidelines with student record information.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements: High School Graduate or equivalent

Experience Requirements: Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience using different technology/software platforms and familiarity with student systems preferred.
